    Customized Ragged Aces Chips

    Great Wall Chips

These are the chips I'm thinking of purchasing, customized with the Ragged Aces logo.  I've got a sample in hand along with 5 other professional quality chips and I like these the best for color, feel, and though the weight is only 10 grams, they stack well, sound good, and they are of similar quality to the Paulson chips (considered the best).

Question is...do we print different pictures on front and back, and do we include the chip value?

Another question is...anyone interested in getting a set for themselves?  For one set of 1000, it costs $700 but if others want to get a set, the overall cost comes down as we increase the number of chips.

Finally, anyone have any ideas on what we should print on the back side?  Christine and I have some thoughts, but I'd like to hear other ideas (the front will be the ragged aces logo).

Those chips most definitely have a great look and feel. I agree with you that we shouldn't place a value on them, to make it easier to use as needed in various tournaments. You had mentioned that I should post my thoughts to gain other imput from the "Aces"...

My suggestion would be have a flight related theme... Maybe a character wearing a WWI Uniform? Flight Goggles, Flying Cap, and Scarf. Giving the chips a "Heads & Tails" feel. (Great for those coinflip calls & situations.) If not a person, such mentioned items in a display form. At least something to gather the mood/mode of the group in poker form during game play.

I don't have use for a complete set, but would like one of all 7 chips after a final choice has been made. Would that warrant a discount? *laughs*

As far as the pricing, maybe all the "Aces" could pitch in $20... To many, it really isn't that much!!! Having personally played with quality and professional chips, I can say that it'll add even more to our experience with the sounds and feel of casino poker. It is a wonderful investment and I'm sure we'd all enjoy the addition to our already "great" game/setup. Think about it... :o)

I really like the "heads" idea with the WWI pilot.  That's better then the ideas Christine and I had come up with so far...I'll work on Christine to start working on the concept so we can display the two sides in concept art to the group before I purchase the chips.

As for chipping in on the cost, I'm not going to turn down any donations toward the cause, but it isn't neccessary, I'm going to purchase the chips before the championship game one way or another Big Smile

Now...as for an extra chip per color...not sure how the manufacturer deals with that, but I'm sure they can do it...they'll charge for each chip, something like .75 or something...

Count me in for a definite $20 donation for chip costs... I owe at least that much! (Hopefully this may spark interest among other "Aces"?) *smiles*

Yes, please do bargain on my behalf and get me a single chip of each color. It's for nostalgia sake... (I do not mind the price in the least!)

I like the idea of the head of an ace pilot on the back of the chips.  I've been thinking about playing around with the idea of using the artistic style of a face card (linework and graphic colors) and apply that towards the ace.  I'm going to work on sketches this week and will post them in this forum over the weekend.

Let me know when you are ready to buy these, and I will kick in some cash ($20, or more if you need it.)
